Appointment of CIPHI National President Elect

December 15, 2019

CIPHI National Executive Council (NEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Kapell as National President Elect as of October 31, 2019.  The NEC is pleased to have Kevin assume this role as he has been a valuable, dedicated and outspoken member of the NEC since May of 2017.Kevin obtained his BASc in Environmental Health and Science at the First Nations University of Canada/University of Regina in the spring of 2007 and obtained his CPHI(C) in the fall of 2007. Since that time, he has been employed by the former Heartland Health Region/current Saskatchewan Health Authority as a field Public Health Officer. He’s worked in rural offices in both Outlook, SK and Rosetown, SK and covers a large rural area in west central Saskatchewan.

His interest in CIPHI started in Saskatchewan after he attended both the AEC in Regina in 2006 and the provincial conference in 2007, both organized by SK Branch. Seeing those dedicated volunteers working hard to put on 2 great events really inspired him to get involved. He has been a part of the CIPHI SK Branch executive since being elected to a councilor position in 2011. He served as the President of CIPHI SK Branch from the fall of 2017 and concluded his term October 29, 2019. He was appointed to the position of President Elect October 31, 2019.

Kevin currently lives in Rosetown, SK with his wife Amanda and son Aiden. When he’s not working, he coaches both hockey and baseball, plays recreational hockey, golf, travel and spends time at their cabin.

He’s looking forward to the opportunity to continue to volunteer with CIPHI as a member of the National Executive Council and to continue to work with the amazing dedicated volunteers of CIPHI.
