Environmental Public Health
Photography Contest
Photography is a powerful storytelling medium that can spark conversations and educate others about important issues.
We are certain there are storytellers with a passion for photography among the environmental health workforce. We welcome the chance to celebrate your impact on environmental public health.
Contest photos may be used to promote Environmental Public Health Week by showcasing the environmental public health profession and its work.
Submission Categories
Category 1: WEPH Week – Environmental Health: Standing with Science to Protect Communities
Category 2: In the Field (Photos representing the daily work of Environmental Public Health Professionals)
Category 3: General Environmental Public Health, including Food Safety, Water Safety, Air Quality, Infectious Disease, Personal Services, Built Environmental, Environmental Contaminants, Wastewater, and Health Equity.
Contest
Each photo submitted will be featured in a photography exhibition at the 2026 CIPHI AEC.
- First, second, and third place winners will be selected in each category.
- Winners receive the large printed and matted copy of their photo, recognition, and a prize.
AEC Photography Reception Display
Winners will be announced on Sunday evening at the 2026 CIPHI AEC Welcome Reception. All AEC attendees are invited to the welcome reception, and attendance is included in registration. Light refreshments will be provided.
The photos will remain on display for the duration of the 2026 CIPHI AEC.
Photographs may be used in CIPHI advocacy and social media posts. Photographs submitted in the EPHW category may be used in the EPHW Advocacy Campaign.
Photo Requirements
Size
Photos must be high-quality, high-resolution (>1MB), as they will be printed for display.
Subject
Photo submissions must:
- Be free of identifiable individuals, unless written consent is provided for inclusion of the image
- Be free of logos, brands or advertising Be original work and not have been previously published.
- Not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing people and/or objects from within the frame.
- Each photo submission must include the name of the photographer, a title, the location of the photo, and a brief (1-3 line) description of the photograph.

- Individuals may submit up to one photo per category.
- Joint submissions are allowed; please provide the names of all contributors on the form. Individuals must have an active CIPHI membership to participate.
- Deadline for submission is 5 August 2026.
