From Detection to Control: Legionellosis Investigations in Rural Communities in Northern New Brunswick
Using two real-world case studies from the region, this presentation walks through how Legionella can emerge in rural settings and what that looks like on the ground for public health teams. It covers how cases were detected, how potential sources were identified and assessed, and the practical steps taken to control and reduce risk. The session also touches on some of the challenges that come with environmental sampling and wraps up with key lessons and takeaways that may be useful for public health practice more broadly.
