CIPHI is excited to share a variety of resources developed for our members and partners to use and promote throughout the week.

A CAREER OUTSIDE THE ORDINARY

I wanted to share with you some recent updates on the CIPHI recruitment campaign.

Phase one of the national recruitment campaign recently wrapped up, with phase two launching on September 16, 2024. This phase will again target current and recently graduated post-secondary students with a background in science. The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness of Environmental Public Health (EPH) as an exciting and rewarding career path and to encourage further exploration of this field.

Phase two will continue our various digital and social media ads (Instagram, TikTok) with new images. We have also purchased transit ads and billboards near accredited schools across Canada and will run an ad on Spotify. Below are the locations of the out-of-home advertisements if you are in the area and want to check them out:

  • Vancouver – Patterson SkyTrain Station (Sep 23-Oct 20, 2024)
  • Edmonton – Coliseum Station, Central Station, Bay/Enterprise Square (Sept 16 to Oct 11, 2024)
  • Toronto – Wellesley Subway Station (Sept 16 to Oct 11, 2024)

September 2024 issue of the Environmental Health Review

Dear CIPHI members,

  • A technical article from the NCCEH on managing cyanobacterial blooms in recreational waters
  • An emerging issues article by Tim Sly on Avian Influenza in dairy cattle

We also have our spotlight feature highlighting the great work being done by environmental health students at Toronto Metropolitan University. We have Nelson Fok’s research article summaries to keep us updated on the variety of research being done in this field, as well as a branch update from British Columbia.
